The story of Rajendra Paithankar (Raju) is one of resilience, innovation, and excellence. A Gold Medalist in Textile Engineering from Govt. SKSJTI, Bangalore (VTU) in 1982, he began his career in Mumbai before earning an Italian government scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Textile Machinery at the prestigious Cerimates School, Italy. This experience gave him deep expertise in European machinery design, shaping his entrepreneurial vision.

Starting as a technical salesperson for pre-owned textile machinery in Italy, Raju turned challenges—like a company financial crisis—into opportunities. He founded Prinitex, focusing on high-quality textile machinery for India. Within six months, the company doubled its business. Over the years, he introduced advanced technologies, worked on projects like Pashmina fibre development, and expanded into woollen machinery. In 2010, he secured agencies for Airjet looms (Japan) and modified combing machines, strengthening Prinitex’s position. By 2012, alongside his wife, he launched Prinitalia, venturing into furniture and interiors inspired by Italian design.

Today, Prinitex goes beyond textiles, offering consulting in technical textiles, joint ventures, biofuels, bioplastics, sustainable materials, and recycling technologies. Raju’s vision bridges European innovation, Indian enterprise, and global sustainability.
